Was recently flicking through a book I contributed to, ‘The Chaos Cookbook’, which as far as I’m aware is currently out of print. This was a collection of spells and rituals written by participants of the now defunct chaosmagic.com website (don’t go there, its just a parked page full of adverts), and designed to help fund that website. In it I came across a wealth magic ritual egregore called ‘Ivathwolfunheb’ which seems to be an early piece of KIA history. I don’t remember taking part in this ritual, which is not to say I didn’t…
This spell has its origins in one of the message threads in the Dead Chaosists’ Society Discussion Area of ChaosMagic.Com. We were talking about Wealth Magick and one of the ideas that popped up was that one can’t make trillions of Yen from a 1000 Yen spell. I had an idea that perhaps a Viral servitor could be made in the spirit of Networking Marketing. A bunch of us from KIA and the IOT will simulataneously create the father egregore on the day of June 16th, 2001.
Anyway archive.org archived the orginal posting on chaosmagic.com and you can read it there in full. The idea of getting three other magicians involved does seem a little like a pyramid scheme or chain letter, but since you don’t actually send any money it seems more a benign and humourous parody of them rather than something more insidious.
I was tempted to revive this wealth magic egregore for our current wealth working. On the other hand chaosmagic.com eventually collapsed due to lack of funding (as I understand it). That may not be ivathwolfunhebs fault of course, and for all I know the participants of said ritual all gained the wealth they needed from it.
